Chapter 01
This isn't complete yet. I'm in the middle of the third (and hopefully final) draft, but I have four or five more scenes that need to be written before I can call it a chapter. But feel free to look at what's there so far.
Some miscellaneous stuff: Hiyamizu Tobu is probably not really Japanese for "Cold Water Leap." If English that's been mangled by Japanese speakers is called "Engrish," what should Japanese that's been mangled by English speakers be called?
Intense thanks go to everyone who critiqued my work on the Fan-Fiction Mailing List, especially Harold Ancell, who not only tore apart the introduction of my first draft but read over and commented on the entirety of the second draft. Thermopyle was harsh, but with good reason. Angus MacSpon had some especially good advice on writing alternate versions of canon. I ended up using both of David Johnston's suggestions -- removing the description of Ranma's cursing and rewriting the bathroom scene. There were a couple other people who responded to me off-list, but I've lost those e-mails, so I'm unable to thank you personally. Sorry. -_-()
I'd also like to thank all the people who reviewed the second draft on FanFiction.Net. Those reviews helped too.
